Dashboard locale vs site language

Dashboard language controls the language of the product interface you use to build your site. Site language controls the language used for public system messages and metadata.

Enforced rules and constraints

• Changing dashboard language changes the UI language in the dashboard.
• Site language is set per site and applies to public system messages (for example, status pages shown to visitors) and metadata locale.
• Site language does not automatically translate your site content.

Edge cases

• If an unsupported language value is encountered, the site falls back to English.

• Automatically switching your public site language per visitor.
